I feel like if they had made both Season 7 and 8 ten episodes long and
focused the back half of Season 7 on the White Walkers and then Season 8 could have been defeating Cersei, Dany's descent, aftermath then it would have flowed much better. Most of the ending story lines just never had any time to breathe. I didn't feel for Jon Snow having to kill Dany like I should have because I never really felt invested in their relationship and also because by that point that was pretty much how it HAD to end.
Also I'm convinced we didn't see anything immediately after Dany's death because they couldn't figure out a way for Grey Worm to take Jon Snow into custody alive that made any kind of sense. Realistically Grey Worm would have killed Jon and Tyrion almost immediately.
